Any minority youth or young
adult, both male and female, between the ages of 13 and
19 may voluntarily sign
up for the Destination Christian Academy Online
Educational Program. Special circumstances may be
applied towards younger applicants. And,
permission must be granted by a parent or guardian for
applicants under the age of 18. There are three types
of eligible applicants for this program:
- This program was specifically designed for
minority youth who have already been convicted of
their first criminal offense. These applicants
may either be currently serving time or have been
recently released and are not awaiting a second
prosecution or conviction. This type of
eligible applicant may be submitted in groups of students specifically
associated with a lock down facility, court
appointed requirement, religious or educational
institution.
There is no limit to how many students may apply under one course
application. The
category for this eligibility status is: GROUP
- Secondarily, this program will also benefit
minority youth who are deemed and/or labeled
"At-Risk." These youth do not currently have a
conviction for any crime or misdemeanor, however, they
may have had difficulties with the law, may be on
probation, in the foster care system or considered
troubled teens. Students fitting this profile would be
submitted singularly and not as a group.
The category for this eligibility status is:
SINGULAR
- Finally, this program does not exclude the
individual who has the fore-thought to apply of their
own accord. Any minority youth between the ages of
13 and 19 may choose to apply and complete the
Destination Christian Academy Online Educational
Program. However, due to the biblically-based
curriculum, each youth ages 13-17 must have the
permission of a parent or guardian in order to apply
for the course. The category for this eligibility
status is: INDIVIDUAL
There are several types of entities who are eligible
to submit students for enrollment into the program:
| Parents; Guardians; Social Workers;
Parole Officers,
Court Officials; Counselors; Teen Advocates; Pastors;
Teachers & Group Home Directors |
